The book “The Story of Advertising in the Middle East” narrated by Ramzi Raad was launched in the afternoon of Tuesday, October 18, 2022, during a huge ceremony that was held at the Suleiman Olayan School of Business at the American University of Beirut, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar, and Brigadier General Joseph Eid, representing the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, in addition to several senior army officers.
A few former ministers, MPs, senior administrators and professors at the American University of Beirut, clerics, owners of advertising agencies, workers in all media outlets, and those interested in the advertising profession, participated in the celebration.
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Yusuf Sidani, welcomed the attendees and referred to Ramzi’s distinguished relationship with the American University of Beirut, and focused on the importance of the book, which goes beyond being a biography to chronicling the history of the advertising industry in the region.
Ms. Salma Oueida, Assistant Vice President of Advancement and Business Development Office at AUB, delivered a speech on behalf of Dr. Imad Baalbacki, Vice President of Advancement and Business Development Office, stating the story of Ramzi Raad and his pioneering role in the advertising industry, noting the achievements, awards, and appreciation he received from around the world.
At the end of the ceremony, each of the invitees received a copy of the book with a personal dedication signed by Ramzi Raad, who presented copies of his book to the libraries of the American University and to universities and colleges that teach advertising in their curricula.
